Important Note

DO NOT OPEN TUBE UNTIL IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO TESTING

Stat and Routine turn around time is less than 30 minutes

This test is to be performed on hospitalized patients only.

Whole Blood (lithium heparin dark green tube)

Specimen must remain anaerobic

Specimens may be collected in a heparinized syrine, capillary tube, or a dark green tube (vacutainer).

Specimen should be tested within 30 minutes at room temperature.

If testing is delayed more than 30 minutes, put specimen on ice and run within the next 30 minutes.

Use a "flea" if testing is delayed in capillary samples. Remove "flea" before testing with the magnetic remover.
