Important Note

Outreach Clinics-  Sample must be edta plasma and Frozen if it will not arrive at the hospital lab within 2 hours of collection. 

Specimen Requirement

Plasma (lithium heparin and EDTA acceptable)

Keep specimen on icee

Centrifuge the sample (cold) at 2-8oC

Outreach Clincs: sample must be frozen and edta if it will not arrive at the hospital lab within 2 hours from collection and must arrive at the hospital lab frozen. Please ask the courier to make sure the sample goes in their freezer in the van.

Avoid hemolysis
