Specimen Stability

2 hours at 20-25° C 

8 hours at 2-8° C

If sample will not arrive at the performing lab within 8 hours of collection, urine needs to be aliquotted into a red and yellow preservative tube, and sent to the performing lab refrigerated. If aliquotted off into the red and yellow preservative tube, sample is good for up to 72 hours refrigerated.
