Specimen Requirement
Blood:
0.5 mL serum or Lithium Heparin plasma; SST and PST acceptable.
Specimen must be drawn within the same 24-hour period as the urine collection.
Urine:
24-hour urine collection. Submit entire collection
Referring lab: 24-hour urine total volume, patient height and weight (pre-pregnancy weight on OB patients) is required on request form. Centrifuge urine and send refrigerated, no preservatives required but may be collected with HCL or boric acid.
