Important Note

For patients receiving Rasburicase, specimen must be collected in a cooled tube and immediately placed in an ice bath.  Transport to the laboratory on ice. 

Specimen Requirement

0.5 mL serum or Lithium heparin plasma; SST and PST acceptable.

Specimen Stability

3 days at 20-25° C

7 days at 2-8° C

6 months at -20° C
